This is a recipe for a Persian style rice putting. This is a perfect appetizer to warm you up on a cold winter day. Some people like adding cinnamon to their putting, but it's all based on preference. Some like eating it as a dessert and add walnuts and honey to it.

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of rice

- 2 cups of water

- 3 cups of milk

- Salt and pepper

Optional Ingredients:

- ½ to 1 cups of rose water

- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom

- ¾ cup of sugar (substitute for the salt and pepper)

Directions:

1- Pour your rice and the 2 cups of water in your pot and let the rice sit in the water for about two-three hours. Then rinse the rice and add another 2 cups of water to it.

2- Start cooking your rice at a medium temperature. When the rice starts softening up, add the milk to it.

3- Add the salt and pepper and let it cook for another 15-12 minutes on low temperature.

Note: Watch out for the milk overflowing.

Enjoy!
